The collegiate requirements, the major, and electives are intended to realize the following goals:
- Students will acquire depth of knowledge in a major field and breadth of knowledge in the arts and humanities, natural and mathematical sciences, and social sciences.
- Students will synthesize and integrate knowledge and skills from across the curriculum to develop and evaluate solutions to complex problems.
- Students will be able to access, analyze, evaluate, and use information effectively and ethically.
- Students will be able to reason critically, historically, scientifically, quantitatively, and logically.
- Students will engage in the creative process.
- Students will be able to communicate effectively in writing and speaking, across differences of language and culture.
