Only students majoring in Elementary Education or Exceptional Education may minor in Education. The Education minor only results in eligibility for licensure when completed in conjunction with the Elementary Education or Exceptional Education major and a major in the content area - Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, English, Classics (Latin), History Mathematics, Music (Choral or Instrumental), Physics, History (Social Science & History), Political Science (Social Science & History), Hispanic Studies (Spanish), or Theatre (Theatre Arts). Each content area major will require specific courses for a teaching license in Virginia. Students will work with the Education Coordinator and their content area advisor to ensure satisfactory completion of their majors and their teaching license requirements.
