The English major consists of thirty credit hours in ten courses numbered 186 and above, including:

The Requirements for Teacher Certification
The program requirements of a student planning to minor in education for the purpose of certification in English vary slightly from those of other English majors. In completing the major, education students must include the following courses, as well as ENGL 185 and the Education minor. Please note that no more than two 200-level courses in ENGL may apply to the English major, so not all courses required for certification may apply to completion of the major program.
